Spray Electropolishing
To be ready soon - portable device to electropolish large stainless steel construction on locations. Even though the stainless pipes, railings, parts of pharmaceutical production settings, etc. were not electropolished prior to assembling, it is not too late to protect the surface from local rusting. In the cities located near the coast line rusing of the pedestrian railings or other stainless steel elements, require constant cleaning and passivation. However the one-time electropolishing procedure can solve the corrosion protection problem for many years ahead.
All types of stainless steel can be electropolished by Universal Electrolyte with minimal environmental impact. The portable device can be in form of spray electropolishing for vertical surfaces or as pipes polishing moving section.
Below are some experiments with pipes electropolishing by different fixtures. Electropolishing can be done by moving device, by spray nozzle, brush cathode, any soft tissue. Contrarily to highly advertised devices that clean welded areas (in reality such devices simply remove soft oxide layer and brighten the welded surface), our portable electropolishing indeed electropolish the same way as electropolishing in tank. Moreover the Universal Electrolyte (UE) provides the thickest surface protecting passivation layer. The speed of electropolishing by portable device can be manipulated by altering the UE composition.
